Last year the national Macra na Feirme gathering was held in Bantry with great success and great local support. It was a big event for Bantry to host and contributed enormously to the local community.

In February this year a local group established a new Bantry Macra group and they are growing numbers with plenty of enthusiastic new members from Bantry and surrounding areas
The group has a Face Book page, Bantry Macra, and meets once a month in the maritime hotel.
